Senator Kim Carr, the Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, today announced that Professor John Foster has joined the panel for the review of Australia's national innovation system.
Professor Foster is a highly regarded academic and consultant who specialises in evolutionary economics and applied macroeconomics.
Senator Carr said he was delighted to welcome Professor Foster to the expert panel.
"Professor Foster brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the review and I know he will make a significant contribution to its work.
"In particular, Professor Foster's expertise in innovation theory and evolutionary economics will be invaluable," Senator Carr said.
Senator Carr said that Professor Foster’s appointment was not announced yesterday because he was overseas and could not be reached prior to the announcement.
"Having Professor Foster on board further boosts the credentials of the Review panel and I look forward to receiving the 'Green Paper' report by the end of July 2008," Senator Carr said.
